Orcas Cove Boat and Sea Kayak
If you enjoy the serenity of the wilderness the Orcas Cove Kayak is for you! This trip combines boat transportation to Orcas Cove for a beautiful and nature-filled sea kayak trip with no more than 6 people.
Meet at the kayak office near your ship's berth and take a small boat cruise out to Orcas Cove for a kayak.
See eagles, seals and other wildlife may appear as you travel to and around the cove. You never know what wildlife will swim by or fly overhead.
Climb aboard our comfortable cabin cruiser and enjoy a 20 minute boat ride to Orcas Cove with your experienced captain. Along the way you’ll learn about Ketchikan, see the Saxman Totem Pole Park from the water, keep an eye out for whales and other marine mammals and watch for bald eagles.
Our floating base, the "Mothership" allows us to enjoy Orcas Cove without having an impact on the delicate intertidal ecosystem. It offers a head (a nautical bathroom), a platform that makes it easy to get in and out of the kayaks, and a warm galley where you can enjoy a smoked salmon after kayaking.
After outfitting on the Mothership it will be time for you 1.5 - 1.75 hour sea kayak adveture. Our fiberglass double touring sea kayaks are fast and stable. They have rudders to help with the steering and you don't have to co-ordinate paddle strokes with your partner which makes for happy couples. We also have triple kayaks that make the paddling easier for families with smaller children. to await you upon your return to the marina.
